Frozen vs Fresh

Ever wondered if Fresh vegetables and fruits are better than frozen foods? because I have. This topic might be a little controversial because “fresh is always better” is usually right. In this particular case, some people could argue that frozen vegetables are better as in retaining most of their nutrients compared to fresh vegetables or fruits. Uncooked fresh vegetables are typically known to be more nutritious but it varies from vegetables.

Fruits and vegetables that are high in vitamins B and C are best fresh because these vitamins are water soluble meaning they can be leached out during processing. With that being said, it depends on the fruit or vegetables. For example, kale and cauliflower are better frozen because they contain a high amount of antioxidants and being frozen helps them retain them for a longer amount of time.

In my opinion,FullSizeRender.jpeg it does not matter which one retains more nutrients because at the end of the day it’s better to have some veggies than no veggies at all. But if you are concerned about getting the most nutrients out of your fruits and vegetables look up which ones are best in their desired temperature and exposure.
